Virginia Highlands Anesthesia was founded in 1981 by Robert Gilmer, MD., and now provides anesthesia services at 5 different facilities across 4 different counties in southwest Virginia. We are comprised of a group of both anesthesiologists and nurse anesthestists, and we work together as a team during your surgery to ensure your safety and well-being.
